Rent ServiceTitan's Scheduler or Build Your Own? A Fair Look at Scheduling Pro
We build custom booking flows for a living, and we will still tell plenty of ServiceTitan shops to buy Scheduling Pro first. The real question is not which tool is better. It is which one costs you less in the things you care about: design, speed, tracking, qualification and who keeps the data.

The short answer
Scheduling Pro is ServiceTitan's own online scheduler, a Pro add-on with no published price that installs by script on Duda, Wix, GoDaddy, WordPress or a custom site and opens as an overlay. Buy it when you want booking quickly with ServiceTitan's capacity rules built in. A custom flow earns its cost when design, page speed, branching questions, search and exact tracking matter more.

The verdict first: most shops should take the free trial
Start with the case for the product we do not sell. Scheduling Pro lives inside ServiceTitan. ServiceTitan's product page calls it "fully built into ServiceTitan," which means the booking uses the job types, zones and capacity rules your office already maintains. Nobody has to keep a second calendar honest. For a shop whose website is a builder template and whose dispatcher is already stretched, that is most of the argument.
It is also cheap to test. ServiceTitan's help center describes a try-before-you-buy demo that starts from Integrations > Marketing Integrations with a Try Now button, and says setup progress carries over to the paid version. An owner can find out in a week whether customers use it, which is more than most software purchases allow.
So why does this page exist? Because the overlay is a rented room on your website. It is furnished by ServiceTitan, lit by ServiceTitan's script and arranged to ServiceTitan's floor plan. For some contractors that is exactly right. For others, the booking step is where the marketing budget either turns into jobs or leaks, and they want to own the room. The ServiceTitan integration hub covers everything else a website can connect; this guide is only about that decision.
What the Scheduling Pro license buys, in ServiceTitan's own words
Product pages promise and help articles specify, so we read both. Here is what ServiceTitan documents as of November 2026, sorted by the question an owner actually asks.
Where it goes
An install script on Duda, Wix, GoDaddy, WordPress or a custom site, per ServiceTitan's help center. It is not a block on the page: it opens as an overlay when a button or a direct link launches it, and only on domains whitelisted in Scheduler Details.
What it asks
You choose bookable job types through job type mapping and Services Offered. Customize Question Mode adds service questions and answers for job types outside the standard mapping. Advanced settings can assign a business unit by condition.
What it offers
Four capacity options: Adaptive Capacity, Adjustable Capacity Planning, Business Hours and Custom Capacity. The help center notes that Adjustable Capacity Planning depends on current technician shifts, and Custom Capacity needs every technician and trade included.
Where else it books
Reserve with Google maps your Google business profiles to schedules, so customers book from Search and Maps. ServiceTitan offers a free Reserve with Google widget and a version powered by Scheduling Pro.
What else it sells
The product page FAQ says it "collects payments and captures memberships at the time of booking," and that customers can book online or "by agentic SMS text."
What it costs
No published price. It is a Pro add-on licensed from ServiceTitan, and the help center sends buyers to a demo request rather than a price list.

The install mechanics, the whitelist and the tracking pitfalls of the link-style install are covered step by step on our online booking page. We will not repeat them here.
Schedule Engine, Web Scheduler and the older widgets still on live sites
Many contractors who search for Scheduling Pro already have a ServiceTitan booking button. It is just an older one. ServiceTitan's help center describes Schedule Engine as a separate, standalone platform with its own credentials and fewer customization options, and names Scheduling Pro its "intended replacement." Live Services, ServiceTitan's on-demand live voice and chat agents, still runs on Schedule Engine.
Older still is the Web Scheduler, in a 2.0 version and a Legacy one. Its button calls a widget manager from an onclick attribute, and ServiceTitan says its Technical Support "cannot help with installing the web scheduler code." On WordPress you may also find a plugin called ST Widgets, last updated in July 2022 by an account named stuser. ServiceTitan's documentation does not mention it, so we treat it as unofficial.
Overlay or inline flow, compared on the ten things that matter
Every row below is a real trade. None of them is a scandal. Read the right-hand column as what you get for paying someone like us, and the middle column as what you get for not having to.
| Scheduling Pro | Custom flow built into your pages | |
|---|---|---|
| Price | Pro add-on; ServiceTitan publishes no price | Included in every DataCram site package from $1,500; quoted from $575 on an existing site |
| Time to first booking | A trial you can start from inside ServiceTitan | Typically one to three weeks for the connection, after a written field map |
| Design | ServiceTitan's overlay, set up within its options for questions, workflows and branding | Your fonts, photos and layout, inline on the service page itself |
| Page weight | A third-party script on every page that offers booking | Code that ships with the page and runs on your own server |
| Question logic | Job type mapping plus Customize Question Mode | Any branching you can describe: by page, by answer, by ZIP code, by equipment age |
| Availability | Read live from your dispatch board through the capacity option you choose | Read from ServiceTitan's capacity endpoint, 14 days per request |
| Attribution | A campaign assigned with ServiceTitan's DNI logic; counted as a Web Booking lead | The landing page, referrer, click IDs and UTM tags sent with each booking |
| Search | The steps load from ServiceTitan's script, so they add nothing to the page search engines read | Questions and answers can sit on the page as plain text a crawler reads |
| Visitors who stop halfway | Recorded as sessions in ServiceTitan, readable through the API | Logged on your server, with follow-up only where the visitor consented |
| Google booking | Reserve with Google on the Business Profile and Local Services Ad | None by itself; pair it with Reserve with Google |
Two rows deserve a second look. Speed first: a booking button that waits on someone else's script is a booking button that sometimes waits, and our Next.js approach exists largely to remove that wait. Then data. With Scheduling Pro the session record lives in ServiceTitan. With a custom flow, the answers a customer types on your site start on your server. That matters if you ever want to change software, or simply want to know which question makes people quit.
Signs you have outgrown the rented scheduler
Keep Scheduling Pro if
- Your site runs on a builder and will for the next year
- Most bookings are repair and maintenance calls with simple questions
- Your capacity setup is clean and your office trusts it
- You want Google bookings and site bookings from one tool
- Nobody has time to review a field map this quarter
Build a custom flow if
- Replacement leads need qualifying before a comfort advisor drives out
- Each trade or brand needs its own questions, photos and tone
- Paid landing pages lose people the moment an overlay opens
- You want the booking step to be content Google can read
- Your reports need click IDs on every booking, not most of them
Multi-step qualification is usually what tips it. A furnace replacement inquiry is worth a few extra questions: the age of the system, the fuel, whether the house has ductwork, whether the customer wants financing for the new equipment explained. A custom flow can ask those only of the people they apply to, then hand ServiceTitan a booking whose summary reads like a dispatcher wrote it. Our web forms guide shows how those answers map to fields.
Run both for 30 days and let the bookings decide
The fairest test is a side-by-side one, and it is not hard to set up. This is the sequence we suggest to owners who cannot decide, whether or not they hire us afterward.
- 1
Start the Scheduling Pro trial
Open Integrations > Marketing Integrations in ServiceTitan and click Try Now. Map the job types you want bookable and pick a capacity option on purpose, not by default.
- 2
Install it on one page first
Whitelist your domain, both with and without www, plus any staging address, then put the button on one high-traffic service page rather than the whole site.
- 3
Measure the page before and after
Run the page through a speed test with and without the script. Write down the numbers; they become an argument either way.
- 4
Book three test jobs and read the records
Check where each one landed, which campaign it carried, and whether a dispatcher could act on it without calling the customer back.
- 5
Get a fixed quote for the custom version
Ask for the same page with an inline flow. A free site audit or a free mockup gives you something concrete to compare.
- 6
Compare booked jobs, not clicks
After 30 days, count bookings that became paid jobs from each path. The attribution guide explains how to make sure each one is labeled.
If you keep both for good, give the custom flow its own Booking Provider Tag in ServiceTitan and its own campaign names, so the two never blur together in a report. Reserve with Google can stay on Scheduling Pro while the website runs its own flow. That split is common, and it is sensible.
Costs, proof and the cheapest way to find out
ServiceTitan publishes no price for Scheduling Pro, so ask your account manager for one in writing before you compare. Our side is public. Online booking is included in every new site on the web design pricing page, from $1,500 for up to 10 pages to $5,750 for the recommended 51 to 70 page package, which finances at 0% as $1,437.50 down and $359.38 a month for twelve months. Adding a booking flow to the site you already have starts at $575, depending on complexity, after a free review through our API integrations service. Care after launch runs on hosting and maintenance plans from $55 a month.
The proof is in our work. On Bleuwave Home Services, an HVAC, plumbing, electrical and handyman company in the Phoenix metro, "an on-page assistant books straight into ServiceTitan." The trade sites we rebuilt for the same company show what a booking step looks like when it belongs to the page: the Bleuwave HVAC case study is built around an instant estimate, and the plumbing one around emergency triage. If you are still choosing field software altogether, start with ServiceTitan vs Housecall Pro vs Jobber.
Questions contractors ask about ServiceTitan integration
ServiceTitan publishes no price for Scheduling Pro. It is a Pro add-on, and its help center points buyers to a demo request instead of a price list. Ask your ServiceTitan account manager for a written quote, then compare it with the cost of a custom flow, which DataCram includes in every new site package from $1,500.
Yes, according to ServiceTitan's help center. A try-before-you-buy demo starts from Integrations > Marketing Integrations with the Try Now button, and the setup work you do during the trial carries over to the paid version. Install it on one service page first so you can measure its effect on that page before rolling it out.
No. ServiceTitan describes Schedule Engine as a separate, standalone platform with its own credentials and fewer customization options, and calls Scheduling Pro its intended replacement. ServiceTitan's Live Services, its on-demand live voice and chat agents, still run on Schedule Engine. If your site uses the older Web Scheduler, that is a third product again.
ServiceTitan's help center lists Duda, Wix, GoDaddy and WordPress alongside custom sites. On each, you add ServiceTitan's install script, whitelist the domain in Scheduler Details, and attach the scheduler to a button or link. It opens as an overlay over your page rather than sitting inside it.
For a site that can run server code, the main alternative is a booking flow built into your own pages that sends each request to ServiceTitan's bookings API with its web session attached. It costs a build instead of a license and gives you design, question logic and tracking control. For a builder site, the honest alternative is often an older ServiceTitan widget, which is no improvement.
Yes, and many contractors should run both: Scheduling Pro on Google through Reserve with Google, and a custom flow on the website's own pages. Give the custom flow its own Booking Provider Tag and campaign names so reports keep the two apart, and make sure both read capacity from ServiceTitan so neither offers a slot the other just filled.
