Fail any of them and both the visitor and the search engine notice.
The causes are almost always the same handful. Images exported at desktop size and shipped to phones. A theme loading code for features the site never uses. Scripts from analytics, chat widgets, and ad pixels stacked in the head of the document, each one holding the page hostage before a word appears. Fonts that block text from rendering. A server that thinks about it too long before answering.
So the work is subtraction more than addition. We measure the site on a throttled phone, because that is what your customers are holding, and find what is actually blocking the first paint. Then we right-size and modernize the images, defer the scripts that do not need to run first, cut the code nobody uses, and reserve space so nothing shifts under a finger.
