Jobber Online Booking on a Website: Assessments, One-Off Jobs and the Tracking Catch

A window cleaner wants homeowners to book a quote visit without a phone call. Jobber can do it tonight. The decisions that matter come before the embed code: assessment or job, approval or instant, and how the booking will remember which ad sent it.

The short answer

Jobber online booking lets clients schedule work from your team's availability. An assessment booking creates a request and puts an assessment on your calendar; a job booking converts the request into a one-off job. It reaches a website through a link, an embed code, or Jobber's WordPress plugin, and UTM tags on the booking URL fill in the lead source.

Book a visit or book the work: the first decision Jobber asks for

Most trades split cleanly. A pressure washer can price a driveway from a few answers and a photo, so the customer might as well book the job. A landscaper quoting a new bed design has to walk the yard first, so the customer books a visit. Jobber's booking forms follow the same split. Per its online booking article, an assessment booking "creates a request" and schedules an assessment on your calendar, while a job booking converts the request and schedules a one-off job.

Get that choice right per service and half the design is done. Get it wrong and you either send a crew to a job nobody priced or make a customer wait for a visit she did not need. Everything else on this page, the embed, the plugin, the tracking and the custom route, sits on top of it. The wider picture of what a website can hand Jobber is on the Jobber integration hub.

Inside Jobber after someone presses book

Jobber's online booking article, read in November 2026, describes a flow that does real work on its own. Here is what happens once a client picks a service and a time.

  • Times come from your team's availability, and if you use arrival windows, those settings decide the arrival time shown for each slot.
  • If more than one team member is free in a slot, Jobber assigns the appointment randomly, so routing rules beyond that belong in your setup, not the form.
  • Turn on Require assessment booking approval and clients see no confirmed date or time after submitting; they get a confirmation when you accept the request.
  • A payment method question can be added, card only, though it does not appear when the form is embedded on a website.
  • Connect the form to your Google Business Profile and clients can book from your listing in Google Search.
  • A Google Analytics tracking code can be added to track form activity, with a catch covered below.

Tuesday at ten, window wash, booked from a phone. The bucket never asks which ad it came from. Your report should.

Jobber offers three website routes, each documented in its help center. They differ in how much of the page you control and what they need from your site.

None of the three is wrong. A one-crew company with a simple service list can embed the form on a booking page, add the hosted link to the Google profile and be done by dinner. The custom work starts when the business pays for ads and needs to know which ones produce booked work, or when the booking has to live inside dozens of service pages written to rank.

Jobber's own help article is candid about the limit: Google Analytics 4 tracking on an embedded form "relies on third-party cookies inside the iframe, and most browsers block them by default." Chrome is the stated exception. So the analytics view of an embedded booking form is partial at best, and that is outside Jobber's control.

The lead source is a different story, and a better one. Jobber's client basics article says UTM tags on request and online booking URLs fill in the lead source automatically, reading utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_term and utm_content; its example tags a link with utm_source=facebook and labels the lead Facebook. Jobber also offers Automated Lead Tracking links for Facebook, Google, Instagram and Yelp. On a site we build, every booking link and embed carries tags that match the page and campaign that served it, so Jobber's lead source says something more useful than Google.

When we build the booking step ourselves, and what it can honestly promise

A custom booking step connects through Jobber's GraphQL API as a custom integration, authorized by your admin with OAuth. Jobber's own Zapier app, which runs on the same platform, can create clients and requests and add notes to requests, so a website can certainly file a request with the customer's preferred times. What we could not confirm from Jobber's public pages, which turn away automated readers on the developer side, is an API query that returns open booking times the way Jobber's own form does. We check that in your account's schema during scoping, and until it is confirmed we design the honest version.

Jobber's booking form, well placed

  • Real availability and instant confirmation
  • Assessments or one-off jobs created by Jobber itself
  • UTM tags on the link set the lead source
  • Styling and questions stay Jobber's

A custom request step

  • Your design and your questions, on every service page
  • A request filed with preferred windows and the visit's tags
  • The click ID stored for ad reporting
  • The office confirms the time, and the page says so

Many shops end up with both: Jobber's form on a dedicated booking page for customers ready to pick a slot, and short custom request forms on service pages for everyone else. The form side is covered on our Jobber lead forms page, and the developer detail on the Jobber API guide.

Google bookings, busy weeks and who shows up at the door

Jobber's Local Services Ads connection sends bookings made from your Google profile into Jobber as an assessment or a visit, depending on the service, and a new client who books that way gets Google as the lead source. On Grow, a brand-new client is labeled a lead. We leave that connection to Jobber; it is tied to your Google account, not your website.

Busy weeks are where the approval setting earns its place. In spring, a lawn company may want every assessment approved by a person before it is confirmed, so the calendar never promises a crew that is already booked. The page should say plainly that the time is requested, not set. For trade-specific booking pages, see our notes on lawn and landscaping websites and house cleaning websites. For how fast first replies change outcomes, read the five-minute rule. Housecall Pro users can compare our Housecall Pro booking page.

Setting it up, and the price of each route

  1. 1

Decide assessment or job per service

List your services and mark which ones need a visit before a price. That choice sets which booking form each page uses.

  2. 2

    Confirm your plan

Check Account and Billing in Jobber for online booking, the WordPress plugin and Zapier, which Jobber lists as select-plan features.

  3. 3

    Tag every link

Agree lead source names, then give each page and campaign its own UTM-tagged booking link so Jobber fills the source.

  4. 4

    Place it where people decide

Booking belongs on the service pages that rank, near the price and the proof, not only behind a header button.

  5. 5

    Test with a real booking

Book a test assessment from a tagged link, confirm the lead source in Jobber, then cancel it and note the result.

Every new site package includes online booking, from $1,500 for up to 10 pages to the $5,750 package for 51 to 70 pages that we recommend, on our web design pricing page; 0% financing spreads it over up to a year at 25% down. Building a custom request step into a site you already have starts at $575, depending on complexity, quoted after a free review, and typically goes live the same day as an API integration. Start with a free mockup, a free site audit, or a call to (210) 346-0848.

Questions contractors ask about Jobber integration

Per Jobber's help center, an assessment booking creates a request and schedules an assessment on your calendar, so you can see the work before pricing it. A job booking converts the request automatically and schedules a one-off job. Choose per service: visits for work you must see, jobs for work you can price from a few answers.

Yes. Jobber's official WordPress plugin adds a Jobber block you insert into any page or post and set to the Request or Booking form. It is available on select Jobber plans, and on WordPress.com it needs the Business or Commerce plan. Disconnecting Jobber removes every embedded form at once, so plan changes carefully.

Jobber's help center explains that GA4 tracking on an embedded form relies on third-party cookies inside the iframe, which most browsers block by default; Chrome is the exception it names. Jobber says this is outside its control. UTM tags on the booking link still fill Jobber's lead source, which matters more for reporting.

Yes. Jobber lets you connect a booking form to your Google Business Profile so clients book from your listing, and its Local Services Ads connection adds bookings to your schedule as an assessment or visit, with Google as the lead source for new clients. Both are set up inside Jobber rather than on your website.

For assessments, yes. With the Require assessment booking approval setting on, clients do not see a confirmed date or time after submitting, and they receive a confirmation once you accept the request. It is a sensible setting for busy seasons, as long as the booking page tells customers the time is a request.
