Hello Biz headers

Hello Biz Header Not Showing: Hello+ Templates, Theme Builder and Lapsed Pro

Three different products can print the top of a Hello Biz page, and they take turns in a fixed order. When the header vanishes, nothing has usually been deleted. One of the three stepped aside and the next in line was told to stay quiet.

The short answer

A Hello Biz header usually goes missing because two Hello+ Header templates are published, so Hello+ prints neither; the Hello+ Header is a draft while the theme's own header is disabled; an Elementor Pro Theme Builder header has conditions that miss some pages; the page uses Elementor Canvas; or Elementor Pro was switched off. Start in Elementor's Saved Templates list.

Missing, plain or different: what the top of the page tells you

Look at the page logged out, in a private window, and describe the top of it precisely. On Hello Biz, each picture below belongs to a different layer, which is faster than any plugin scan. The general guide to a missing WordPress header covers other themes.

  • Nothing at all above the content, on every page.
  • A bare header: your site name as plain text and the menu as an unstyled list. That is Hello Biz's own fallback, which means the Hello+ Header is not printing.
  • The right header on some pages and a different one on others. Two systems are each covering part of the site.
  • Fine in the Elementor editor, gone on the live site. Publish status, conditions or a cache.
  • Present on desktop, broken or absent on phones. Responsive settings, or the hamburger itself.

The order in which Hello Biz chooses a header

Read Hello Biz 1.2.2's header.php alongside Hello+ 1.7.8 and the queue is clear. Elementor Pro's Theme Builder is asked first. If no Pro header applies to the page, Hello+ prints its Hello+ Header template, but only when exactly one is published. If Hello+ has nothing, the theme prints its own simple header, unless a setting or filter tells it not to.

Who prints the Hello Biz header, in order of priority
Where you edit itWhy it may not print
1. Elementor Pro Theme Builder headerElementor, Theme Builder, HeaderConditions miss the page, template is a draft, Pro is inactive
2. Hello+ Header templateHello Biz, Home, Site Parts, Header, EditZero or more than one published, or a Pro header applies
3. Hello Biz's own headerNot editable; prints site name, tagline and the main menuDisable theme header and footer is on, or a filter says no

That last row catches people out. Elementor's help center says Canvas intentionally hides the header and footer, and it is a reasonable choice for a landing page that nobody remembers choosing.

Causes, most common first, and how to confirm each

1. Two Hello+ Headers published, so neither prints

Hello+ allows one active header. Publish a second from the editor and it is saved as a draft with a warning. Duplicates can still end up published, which is why Hello+ carries an error label for them, and when they do, Hello+ 1.7.8 prints no Hello+ header and still tells the theme not to print its fallback. The result is a blank strip on every page. Check: open Saved Templates under Elementor's Templates menu. Hello+ marks the live one Active Hello+ Header, flags duplicates Error: multiple Hello+ Header published, and shows an admin notice. Move every extra one to Draft, or use the Set as Entire Site row action on the one you want.

2. The Hello+ Header is a draft and the fallback is switched off

With no published Hello+ Header, Hello Biz falls back to its own plain header. Under Hello Biz, Settings, the Structure and layout section has a Disable theme header and footer toggle. The theme's own tip says it is ignored while a Hello+ or Elementor Pro header exists. Remove that header and the toggle takes effect, leaving nothing. Check: the template's status in Saved Templates, then the toggle.

3. A Theme Builder header with conditions that miss

With Elementor Pro, a Theme Builder header beats the Hello+ Header wherever its display conditions match. Set it to the front page only and every other page shows the Hello+ header, or the plain fallback. Elementor's own fix list for a missing header is the same: confirm the conditions, confirm the template is published, not draft or private, and confirm the page is not on Canvas. Check: Elementor, Theme Builder, open the header, Edit Conditions. Entire Site is the usual intent.

4. Elementor Pro lapsed, or someone deactivated it

Elementor says that without renewal you cannot update Pro and may have only limited access to existing Pro features, and that updating free Elementor without Pro can cause compatibility problems. It does not list which Pro features keep working. Deactivation is clearer: Hello Biz checks for a function that Pro supplies before asking the Theme Builder anything, so with Pro off, Theme Builder headers stop printing and the queue moves to Hello+ or the fallback. Check: Plugins screen and Pro's version against free Elementor's. License activation trouble has its own page: Elementor Pro license not activating.

5. The header is there, but not on phones

A container with Hide on Mobile, under Advanced, Responsive, vanishes only on phones. The Hello+ Header widget has its own Breakpoint choice, Mobile below 767 pixels, Tablet below 1024 or None, which decides when the hamburger takes over. Forum users have reported Hello Biz hamburger submenus that will not expand; Hello+ 1.7.7's changelog fixes parent menu behavior when a menu has subitems. Check: the Hello+ version, then the widget's responsive settings in mobile preview. Elementor mobile layout problems goes further.

6. A stale file or cache

Elementor generates CSS files, and caches hold old pages. Elementor's own advice for a header that shows in the editor but not live ends with Clear Files & Data in Elementor's Tools screen, then purging any cache plugin, server cache and CDN.

Getting the Hello Biz header back on every page

  1. 1

Back up, then copy to staging

Template status changes are instant and site-wide. Test them where customers cannot see.

  2. 2

    Check the page layout

Open the affected page in Elementor, then Page Settings. If Page Layout is Elementor Canvas, switch it to Default or Elementor Full Width.

  3. 3

    Count the Hello+ Headers

In Saved Templates, keep exactly one Hello+ Header published and move the rest to Draft. Confirm the Active Hello+ Header label appears.

  4. 4

    Read the Theme Builder conditions

If you use Elementor Pro, open each header template and its conditions. Use Entire Site plus exclusions rather than a list of single pages, and make sure only one header claims each page.

  5. 5

Confirm Pro is active and in step

Check that Elementor Pro is active and its version suits the free plugin's. If the license has lapsed, decide now whether to renew or rebuild the header in Hello+.

  6. 6

    Review the theme toggle

In Hello Biz, Settings, turn Disable theme header and footer off unless a Hello+ or Pro header is reliably in place.

  7. 7

Clear Files & Data, then every cache

Regenerate Elementor's files, purge the cache plugin, host cache and CDN, and reload logged out on desktop and a real phone.

If the header vanished straight after an update, compare versions of Hello Biz, Hello+, Elementor and Elementor Pro first: one owner hit a critical error after updating Hello Biz to 1.2.0 and recovered by rolling back. Elementor update broke the layout covers rollbacks. The footer follows the same queue; see WordPress footer not showing for the general case.

One header owner, written down

  • Choose one header system, Hello+ or Theme Builder, and note the choice where the next editor will see it.
  • Keep one published Hello+ Header and footer. Name drafts clearly, and delete old ones you will never use.
  • Before applying a second website kit, remember Elementor's own advice to install kits on a clean site; kits bring headers and footers of their own.
  • Update Hello Biz, Hello+, Elementor and Elementor Pro together on staging, never one at a time on the live site.
  • If you let Elementor Pro lapse, rebuild any Theme Builder header in Hello+ before its updates fall behind free Elementor's.

Layouts that shift rather than vanish are covered in Hello Biz layout broken. The Hello Biz review explains the theme's maintenance-mode notice, the Hello Biz speed guide shows where its weight comes from, and the Elementor repair hub collects the builder's wider problems. Theme and builder arguments over headers are untangled in Elementor theme conflicts.

Repair the header, or move to Hello now

Elementor's help articles, updated August 18, 2026, say Hello Biz will be moved into maintenance mode soon with no new features, and recommend its Hello themes instead. A header fix on Hello Biz is still worth doing when the site must work this week. It is not worth building on. Hello Elementor 3.5.1 identifies itself to Hello+ the same way Hello Biz does, but Elementor does not document how a Hello+ Header behaves after the switch, so treat it as a rebuild to test on staging. Most Hello Elementor sites use a Theme Builder header; Hello Elementor header and footer not showing covers that theme's version of this problem, and the Hello Elementor review covers the rest.

Our theme migration service does the switch on a copy while the live site keeps taking calls, and the theme repair team handles urgent fixes on the current theme.

Three vendors, one strip of pixels

On this stack the header depends on a theme its maker is retiring, a free plugin, a free builder and, often, a paid builder with its own license clock. Each is reasonable alone. Together they produce a header that can disappear because a kit import published one template too many, or because a renewal email went to an old inbox.

In a Next.js site the header is one layout component in the site's code, shared by every page that should have it and changed only through a reviewed release. There is no license to lapse and no queue of candidates. It costs more to build and needs a developer for layout changes. Hello Biz vs Next.js compares the two honestly, and moving a Hello Biz site to Next.js explains how kit pages and Hello+ widgets carry over, with editing afterward in Athena CMS. Other theme problems live in the troubleshooting section, and one-off fixes go to our theme troubleshooting service.

Questions people ask before they call

That plain header, with your site name and an unstyled menu, is Hello Biz's own fallback. It prints when no Hello+ Header template is published and no Elementor Pro Theme Builder header applies. Publish exactly one Hello+ Header in Saved Templates, or reach it through Hello Biz, Home, Site Parts, Header, then clear Elementor's files and your caches.

You can keep several, but only one may be published. Hello+ saves a second one as a draft when you publish it from the editor. If duplicates are published anyway, Hello+ marks them with an error label and prints none of them. For different headers on different pages, you need Elementor Pro's Theme Builder and its display conditions.

Elementor says you lose Pro updates and may have only limited access to existing Pro features, and warns that updating free Elementor without Pro can cause compatibility problems. It does not list exactly what keeps working. If Pro is deactivated, Theme Builder headers stop printing and Hello Biz falls back to the Hello+ Header or its own plain one.

Usually that page's Page Layout is set to Elementor Canvas, which leaves out the header and footer by design. Open the page in Elementor, then Page Settings, and choose Default or Elementor Full Width. If the layout is fine, check whether a Theme Builder header's conditions exclude that page.

Fix it if the site needs to work now; the steps above rarely take long. Then plan the move, because Elementor says Hello Biz is heading into maintenance mode with no new features. Moving to Hello Elementor keeps you in Elementor; a rebuild ends the header queue entirely. See Hello Biz vs Next.js.
