Website Accessibility & ADA Compliance
A real WCAG 2.2 AA audit — screen reader, keyboard, high zoom — then fixed-price remediation by template, an accessibility statement, and re-checks to keep it.
Accessibility is a standard, and a demand letter is the other way to learn it
Businesses usually find out their website is inaccessible one of two ways: a customer with a screen reader gives up and goes elsewhere, silently, or a law firm sends a letter. The second is common enough that many owners first hear the words WCAG and ADA from an attorney. It does not have to go that way. Accessibility is a written standard, it can be measured, and a site can be brought to it.
The standard is WCAG — the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines — and the level courts and regulators point to is AA. It covers what you would expect once it is said aloud: text a screen reader can read in order, images with real descriptions, forms with labels, color with enough contrast, everything reachable by keyboard, video with captions. Most sites fail on a handful of these, repeated across every page.
We start with an audit that tests the site the way people actually use it — with automated scanning, yes, but also with a screen reader, with keyboard only, at 200 percent zoom — and produces a list of what fails, where, and how much it matters. Automated tools find about a third of real issues. The rest are found by a person, which is why a tool's green checkmark is not a defense.
Remediation is then a fixed list of work, not an open-ended engagement. Templates are fixed once and every page that uses them is fixed with them. Forms, menus, modals and media players — the components where sites most often fail — are rebuilt to work with assistive technology. Where a page cannot be fixed without a redesign, we say so and price that separately.
The result is documented: an accessibility statement on the site, a record of what was tested and fixed, and a way to keep it that way, because the next blog post or plugin update can reintroduce a failure. Compliance is a state to maintain, not a certificate to frame, and the maintenance is a small line item next to the alternative.
One more reason, beyond the letter: accessible sites are better sites. Clear structure, labeled forms and real alt text are also what search engines and AI answer engines read. Fixing the first fixes the second. For sites in regulated fields — healthcare, legal, finance — this page pairs with the compliance-minded industry pages.
WHAT WE DO
Audit, remediate, document, maintain
WCAG 2.2 AA audit
Automated scans plus real testing — screen reader, keyboard only, high zoom — with a prioritized list.
Template-level fixes
Fix the layout once and every page that uses it is fixed. Components rebuilt to work with assistive tech.
Forms and media
Labels, errors, focus order, captions and transcripts — the places sites fail most and users notice first.
Contrast and content
Color, type size, headings and alt text corrected across the site, with a style rule so they stay right.
Accessibility statement
A published statement and a record of testing — what a good-faith effort looks like on paper.
Kept compliant
Periodic re-testing after content and plugin changes, because new pages reintroduce old problems.
Received a letter, or want to make sure you never do?
We will audit the site against WCAG 2.2 AA and give you a fixed price to bring it there — usually within a week.
THREE LENSES
Measured, fixed, and kept
Tested like a user
Tools find a third of the problems. A person with a screen reader finds the rest.
A finite list
Remediation is scoped and priced from the audit — not billed by the hour until it feels done.
Readable by machines too
Structure, labels and alt text are what search and AI engines read. Accessibility improves both.
From audit to accessibility statement
Audit
Automated and manual testing across templates and key pages, scored by severity and reach.
Fix by template
Layouts, components and content corrected in the order that clears the most pages soonest.
Verify and document
Re-test, publish the statement, and hand over the record of what was checked.
Maintain
Scheduled re-checks and a content rule set so the site stays where it was brought to.
Questions
Frequently asked
WCAG 2.2 Level AA, which is the level referenced by the Department of Justice for ADA purposes and by most settlements and demand letters. We test against every applicable success criterion, not a subset.
Probably not. Automated tools detect roughly a third of real accessibility failures — they cannot tell whether alt text is meaningful, whether a form is usable by keyboard, or whether a screen reader announces content in a sensible order. A green checkmark is not a defense; a human audit is.
We do not install them. Overlays change the page after it loads rather than fixing the underlying code, they interfere with the assistive technology people already use, and they have been named in lawsuits rather than preventing them. Remediation fixes the site itself.
Talk to your attorney first. Then have us audit the site and fix what fails — quickly, and with a record of what was tested and corrected. A documented remediation and a published accessibility statement are what a good-faith response looks like, and they are also what stops the next letter.
It depends on how many templates the site has and how far they are from the standard, which the audit establishes. The audit itself is a fixed fee and produces a fixed price for the fixes. Because templates are fixed once, a large site is often not much more than a small one.
