This is a demonstration website. DataCram Capital is a fictional firm, so there are no investor accounts, documents or statements to sign in to, and this page never asks for a username or password.

On a real fund’s site, this link opens the secure investor portal, usually run by the fund administrator or a specialist provider, with single sign-on and two-factor authentication. DataCram builds the site around it and links to it; the portal itself stays with the provider.

Approach

Independent judgment inside a shared structure.

Four strategies, run by independent teams, measured and limited by one central risk framework, and supported by technology built for research.

Looking straight up between two glass towers toward a pale sky.
01

Philosophy

Separate the people who take risk from the people who measure it, and give both the tools to do it well.

Markets reward independent thinking, and they punish unexamined risk. Our structure is built to keep both truths in view at once.

Portfolio teams own their ideas. They decide what to research and how to express a view, within a mandate agreed in advance. They do not share positions, and they are not asked to agree with one another.

The center owns the whole. It sees every exposure across every team, sets the limits that keep one team’s difficult stretch from becoming everyone’s, and asks questions before they become problems.

02

Strategies

Four strategies, described plainly.

What each group of teams studies and how it fits the platform. We do not discuss positions, holdings or results on this site.

01

Fundamental Equity

Sector teams that study businesses closely and form independent views on them.

Our fundamental equity teams are organized by sector and region. Each team does its own work on how companies earn money, how their industries are changing, and what could change the picture.

Teams work independently of one another and answer to the same central risk framework, which sets how much risk each team can take and how concentrated that risk can become.

Focus

  • Sector and regional teams
  • Primary research and company work
  • Long and short views
  • Exposure limits set centrally
02

Quantitative Strategies

Systematic research, where ideas are written as models and tested before they are trusted.

Quantitative teams turn research questions into models, test them against clean historical data, and run the ones that survive under careful monitoring.

The work depends on data engineering as much as on mathematics, which is why our research, technology and data teams sit together.

Focus

  • Statistical and systematic research
  • Point-in-time data and testing
  • Execution research
  • Model monitoring and review
03

Global Macro

Views on economies, policy and the relationships between markets, expressed across asset classes.

Macro teams study growth, inflation, central bank policy and the links between rates, currencies and other markets across the world.

Their views are discretionary and their risk is measured and limited centrally, alongside every other team on the platform.

Focus

  • Rates and currencies
  • Policy and economic research
  • Cross-asset relationships
  • Scenario analysis
04

Credit and Fixed Income

Careful work on borrowers, capital structures and the terms that decide who gets paid and when.

Credit teams study the ability and willingness of borrowers to pay, and the documents that set out what lenders are owed.

Liquidity matters more in credit than almost anywhere else, so the central risk team watches how easily positions could be reduced under stress.

Focus

  • Corporate credit research
  • Capital structure analysis
  • Relative value
  • Liquidity under stress
03

Risk framework

Risk is measured in one place, by people who do not take it.

Every team’s exposures flow into a single view. Limits are set before they are needed and enforced by the center.

Firm-wide

Exposure, concentration, liquidity and loss limits

A simplified picture of the structure. Teams never see one another’s positions; the center sees all of them.
  1. 01

    Independent teams

Each portfolio management team makes its own decisions within its own mandate. Teams do not share positions, and one team's view never becomes another team's instruction.

  2. 02

    Risk measured in one place

A central risk team sees every exposure across every team, in one view, every day. Overlaps that look small inside a team can be large across the firm.

  3. 03

Limits set before they are needed

Exposure, concentration and loss limits are agreed with each team in advance and enforced by the center. A limit is a structure, not a negotiation in the moment.

  4. 04

    Liquidity is part of risk

The framework asks how quickly a position could be reduced in a difficult market, not only what it is worth today.

  5. 05

    Separation of duties

Risk, operations, compliance and technology report outside the portfolio teams, so the people who take risk are not the people who measure it.

A long corridor of server racks lit by small blue status lights, receding to a vanishing point.
04

Technology

Engineering is part of the investment process.

Research is only as good as the data and systems under it. Our engineers and data teams sit with the people who use their work, and share responsibility for getting it right.

  • 01

    A shared research platform

Every team works from the same tested tools for data, models and analysis, so a good idea in one team is not rebuilt from scratch in another.

  • 02

Data treated as an investment input

Data engineers sit with the teams who use their work. Data is stored as it was known on each date, with its lineage, and checked every day.

  • 03

    Security and resilience

Systems are built to keep running when a component fails, and access is limited to the people and services that need it.
